Course Objective

The primary objective of a fellowship in Pulmonary Medicine is to provide advanced training in the diagnosis and treatment of all types of lung diseases, including asthma, COPD, pulmonary hypertension, interstitial lung disease, lung cancer, pulmonary infections, and sleep-disordered breathing. Fellows will gain experience in both inpatient and outpatient pulmonary medicine, and learn advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as lung volume measurements, bronchoscopy, pleural procedures, and interventional bronchoscopy. Fellows will also gain experience in critical care medicine, sleep medicine, and research.

Course Description

  • Advanced training in the diagnosis and treatment of all types of lung diseases, including asthma, COPD, pulmonary hypertension, interstitial lung disease, lung cancer, pulmonary infections, and sleep-disordered breathing. 
  • Experience in both inpatient and outpatient pulmonary medicine. 
  • Advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as lung volume measurements, bronchoscopy, pleural procedures, and interventional bronchoscopy. 
  • Experience in critical care medicine, sleep medicine, and research. 
  • Knowledge of the most current guidelines and standards of care for pulmonary diseases. 
  • Exposure to advanced medical technologies, such as imaging modalities, ventilators, and respiratory monitoring systems. 
  • Experience in teaching medical students and residents. 8. Developing skills in clinical leadership, communication, and teamwork.
