Course Objective

The primary objective of the Fellowship in Clinical Oncology is to provide advanced training in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with cancer. The fellowship focuses on developing skills in cancer biology, medical oncology, radiation oncology, and palliative care. Fellows will also gain experience in clinical research methods, laboratory and imaging techniques, and pharmacotherapeutics used in the management of cancer. Additionally, fellows will develop expertise in teaching and supervision of medical students and residents.

Course Description

  1. Advanced training in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with cancer.
  2. Cancer biology, medical oncology, radiation oncology, and palliative care.
  3. Clinical research methods, laboratory and imaging techniques, and pharmacotherapeutics. 
  4. Teaching and supervision of medical students and residents. 
  5. Advanced cancer staging and treatment planning. 
  6. Management of chemotherapy regimens. 
  7. Radiation therapy planning and delivery. 
  8. Interpretation of laboratory tests and imaging studies. 
  9. Evaluation and management of adverse effects of treatment. 
  10. Coordination of patient care with other members of the healthcare team.
